The Maw is a short, fun, 3D platformer where you play as Frank. Frank is some weird alien creature that escapes a boring life or prison or whatever and comes into contact with the Maw, whom he is able to control. Together, Frank and the Maw fight through various levels as the Maw also eats different creatures, growing at various points. Enemies vary but it can feel repetitive. Then again, this game was designed for children and I'm 24. Anyway, it's been in my library for a long time and I figured I might as well play it having just finished a number of other longer games.7.0/10. \u0423\u0430\u0449\u0435 \u043a\u0440\u0443\u0442\u0430\u044f \u0448\u0442\u0443\u043a\u0430 =). Probably one of the most addictive platform games I've played in my life. The maps are often frustratingly challenging and teeth grindingly finicky when time trials are concerned. Its difficulty curve is somewhat fair, but towards the end of the tracks they seem almost impossible. It's a truly satisfying feeling when you manage to pass a small part of the track you had been stuck on for a long time, and the feeling you get when you finish a difficult track makes the whole process worthwhile. The game has some of the best achievements I've ever tried to get. Ranging from simply finishing all tracks in a difficulty set with no faults, to completing an entire level while holding the accelerator down... without faulting.The game never feels unfair and often times failure feels like the fault of the driver and not the game.10/10. Best Motocycle Platform Game I've ever played.. What's not to like? Run around, be cute, and feed the entire universe to your new pet. The controls are fine, the interface is a little clunky, but the overall gameplay is mostly pretty straightforward - run around and get Maw to eat everything. Be sure to find new and interesting things to feed Maw, if only for the neat new effects it gives.
